was plato gazing
heavenward

wondering what
makes a star
a star

or was he gazing
in a terrestial manner
upon
a lowly
firefly

and wondering
the same

when his mind
opened to
the idea of
the idea

the question
of course
is not the point
of this poem
which is but the shadow
of the idea
of a poem

the idea shines
from heaven
to earth
to make a heaven
of earth
